OKX identity check (KYC) failed? Check why, fix it, resubmit
Short answer
Check the reason on the verification page or in the email OKX sends you. Fix it, then resubmit from [Identity verification]. Common problems are blurry, cropped or covered photos, an expired ID, or a screenshot or scan instead of a photo. Reviews usually finish within 24 hours.
- The reason is on the verification page or in your email. Fix it and resubmit.
- Blurry, cropped or covered photos, an expired ID, a screenshot or a scan: you can fix these yourself.
- If face verification fails or your identity is already verified on another account, contact OKX support.
Find out why
- The reason is shown on the verification page or sent to your email.
- Fix what it says, then resubmit from the [Identity verification] page.
- You can also resubmit through the link in OKX’s email. Check the sender first.
In the app
- Open the OKX app and tap [Menu].
- Go to [Account settings] → [Profile] → [Identity verification].
- Follow the prompts to resubmit.
On the website
- Log in at okx.com.
- Open the menu under your avatar and choose [Verification].
- Follow the prompts to resubmit.
Common reasons
Fix these and resubmit:
- Photos won’t upload, nothing happens when you tap, or the camera won’t open. Check your connection and camera permission, and update the app.
- Photos are blurry, cropped or covered, or details on your ID are missing or hard to read.
- You sent a screenshot or a scan, pages are missing, or your ID is in a language that isn’t supported.
- Your ID has expired, or isn’t valid for long enough.
- Your proof of address isn’t valid.
- The person or the ID changed after you submitted.
Contact OKX support:
- Face verification fails, or your face doesn’t match your ID.
- Your identity is already verified on another account. One identity can only be verified on one account.
You can’t get verified if you’re under 18, or if OKX doesn’t support your country or region.
Only contact support through the official OKX site or app. “Support” that messages you first is a scam: how to spot fake support.

FAQ
How long does the review take?
Usually within 24 hours. If it fails, the reason shows on the verification page or in your email.
The app won't upload my photos or open the camera. What now?
It's usually your connection, camera permission or an old version of the app. Try another network, allow camera access, update the app and try again.
It says my identity is already verified on another account. What do I do?
One identity can only be verified on one account. Contact OKX support about it, and don't use someone else's ID instead.
