Already have a Binance or OKX account? How to link a referral code
Short answer
Binance accounts under 30 days old that haven't deposited or traded can add referral code FAIRR; older accounts that qualify can be recalled or re-bound. OKX doesn't allow adding a code later, but inactive accounts can be recalled and, in some regions, low-activity accounts can apply to switch.
- The exchange's own rules apply.
- Both exchanges' official pages for linking an older account are below. Open them and enter our referral code.
- If none of this applies, you can sign up with the exchange you haven't joined yet.
Binance
Signed up less than 30 days ago: add the code yourself
If your main account is less than 30 days old, you haven’t deposited or traded yet and you don’t have a referrer, you can add referral code FAIRR yourself. Add the code first, then deposit and trade. After that you get 20% of your trading fees back on every trade.
Older accounts: recall or re-binding
Two kinds of older accounts can still be linked:
- Recall: the account has never had a referrer, is at least 90 days old and hasn’t used Binance in the last 90 days. It takes effect straight away, with no trading requirement. Binance is still testing this and it isn’t open in every region.
- Re-binding: your main account has no referrer, has passed the ID check and has traded less than 5,000 USD in the last 90 days. It only takes effect if you trade 150,000 USD within 30 days of applying, and approval isn’t guaranteed. Don’t trade more just to get there.
Open Binance’s re-binding page to see if your account qualifies. If it does, enter this referral code:
FAIRRIf you already have a referrer, it can’t be changed.
OKX
You can’t add or change a referral code after sign-up.
Long-inactive accounts: recall
If your account hasn’t deposited, traded, withdrawn or transferred funds in the last 180 days, log in on OKX’s page below, enter the referral code and a reason, and submit. It moves to us within 24 hours, and your old referral link is removed automatically.
Older low-activity accounts: apply to switch
Open in some regions only. Use the same page: log in to your main account, enter the referral code and a reason, and submit. The exchange reviews applications every day and switches eligible accounts within 24 hours; it doesn’t publish the exact threshold.
Both use this OKX page. Enter this referral code:
FAIRRIf none of this applies
You can sign up with the exchange you haven’t joined yet. The referral code is filled in for you, and you get 20% of your trading fees back on every trade. Don’t close your account and sign up again, or open a second account: that breaks the exchange’s rules and can get you banned.
FAQ
I already have a referrer. Can I switch to you?
Not at Binance. At OKX, only accounts that qualify for recall, or older low-activity accounts in some regions, can switch. Don't close your account and sign up again, or open a second account, to change referrer. That breaks the exchange's rules and can get you banned.
How do I know if my account qualifies?
Binance: open its re-binding page and it tells you. OKX: check the conditions above and submit on OKX's page; OKX reviews it.
Re-binding needs 150,000 USD in trading within 30 days. Is it worth it?
Don't trade more just to hit the target. Only consider it if you already trade that much; if you fall short you get no rebate, and the extra trading just costs you more in fees.
