Is Binance P2P safe?

Short answer

Follow Binance's own advice: trade only through Binance P2P orders and the order chat, and ignore anyone who contacts you off the platform. The paying account's name must match the payer's verified name on Binance, so refuse third-party payments. When selling, release only after you see the money in your own bank or wallet app. If something goes wrong, appeal in the order.

FAQ

Is Binance P2P safe to buy on?

Follow Binance's own advice: talk only in the P2P order chat, pay the way the seller specifies, and pay from an account in the same name as your verified Binance account. Binance lists the common scams: fake payment screenshots, fake text messages, third-party payments and fake Binance staff.

Someone off the platform wants to trade with me. Should I?

No. Binance says not to respond to trade requests outside Binance P2P, to talk only in the order chat before and during the trade, and not to trust information or offers from outside channels.

What if the buyer pays from someone else's account?

Binance says not to accept payments from third-party accounts; if it happens, file an appeal in the order and send the money back to the paying account.

They say they've paid. Can I release now?

Not yet. Binance says to check your bank account or e-wallet and confirm the money has arrived before you mark the trade complete; screenshots and texts can be fake.

Someone says they're Binance support and tells me to release first. Should I?

No. Binance says it never emails you to complete a P2P trade; release only after you've received the money.
