How to sign up for Binance: 8 steps, referral code FAIRR
Short answer
Sign up with your email on binance.com or the official app and enter referral code FAIRR to get 20% of your trading fees back on every trade. Then turn on two-factor authentication and verify your ID, and you can buy crypto with your local currency.
- Takes about 15 minutes; the ID check can take a few minutes to a day or two.
- Enter the referral code when you sign up. Binance lets you add one within 30 days if you haven't deposited or traded yet; OKX doesn't let you add one later.
- Start small: deposit, buy some spot crypto, then try one withdrawal.
- Spot only. Stay away from futures and leverage.
Before you start
- An email address you use regularly, with a password you don’t use anywhere else.
- Your own ID: a passport or national ID card, depending on what the exchange accepts in your country.
- An authenticator app, such as Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator, for two-factor authentication.
Make sure you’re on the official site
The official site is binance.com. Search ads at the top of the results and links posted in group chats can lead to copycat sites with an address that’s one or two letters off.

Open the sign-up page with the referral link
Tap the sign-up button on this page and the referral code is filled in for you. If it isn’t, type in FAIRR.
Enter your email and set a password
Use at least 12 characters, mixing letters, numbers and symbols. Only enter verification codes on the official site: exchange staff will never call or message you to ask for one.
Turn on two-factor authentication (2FA)
Under “Account security”, turn on 2FA with your authenticator app: scan the QR code, then enter the 6-digit code.
Verify your identity (KYC)
Follow the prompts to photograph your ID and take a selfie. Only submit documents on the official site or app, and never send photos of your ID to anyone claiming to be support. Don’t use someone else’s ID, and don’t lend yours.
Deposit with your local currency
You can deposit local currency via P2P or debit/credit card.
Try a small amount first. If you buy through P2P, only place the order and confirm payment inside the platform. Never pay the other person outside it.
Make your first spot trade
Go to “Buy crypto” or “Spot”, pick BTC or USDT, buy a small amount, then check it has arrived under “Assets”. Don’t touch “Futures” or “Margin”: you can lose everything within minutes.
Send your UID to our bot to confirm your rebate
Signing up in the app can drop the referral code. Send your UID to our bot and it will confirm your rebate is active; once confirmed you can also join the members’ group (in Chinese for now). Where to find it: tap the Account Center icon at the top left of the app — your User ID is above your nickname. The bot sends you a link to request entry to the group, and it’s approved automatically once your ID check is done.

I forgot to enter the referral code. Can I add it now?
Yes, within 30 days of signing up, as long as you haven't deposited or traded yet. Don't close your account and sign up again, or open a second account, to get a code. That breaks the exchange's rules and can get you banned.
How long does the ID check take?
Usually a few minutes to a day or two, longer at busy times. Make sure your photos are sharp, show all four corners of the document and have no glare.
The email code never arrived. What should I do?
Check your spam folder, wait a minute or two, then tap resend. Anyone who offers to "help you receive the code" is a scammer.
When does the fee rebate arrive?
The exchange pays it into your exchange account automatically, on its own schedule. We never handle your money.
