What coin is it paid in, and to which account?
On Binance it's USDC by default, paid to your spot account. On OKX, the records are under My rewards in the app.
The bot says the code isn't linked. What now?
The code may not have been applied at sign-up. On Binance, within 30 days of signing up and before any deposit or trade, you can add it yourself; see Forgot the referral code?. On OKX it can't be added after sign-up.
Does where I live matter?
Yes. In regions the referral program doesn't support, neither the referrer nor the person invited gets anything. Details are set by the exchange.
Should I make a few more trades to test it?
No. The discount is based on the fees you actually pay; trading more just means paying more fees.
Does the money go through you?
No. The exchange pays it straight into your own exchange account. We never handle your money.
