What is a UID? Your exchange account number, safe to share

Short answer

A UID is the unique number an exchange gives your account; Binance calls it your User ID (BUID). Binance support asks for it, and you need it to join our members' group. It's safe to share: knowing it doesn't let anyone log in to your account.

  • Binance app: tap the [Account Center] icon at the top left; your User ID is above your nickname. OKX app: tap [Menu] → [Account settings]; it's in the [Profile] section.
  • It's fine to share your UID. Never share your password, verification codes or private keys.

In one line

The number your exchange gives your account. Each account has its own.

An example

  • Binance: in the app, tap the [Account Center] icon at the top left. The User ID above your nickname is your UID.
  • OKX: in the app, tap [Menu] → [Account settings]. Your UID is in the [Profile] section of the [User Center] page.

When you contact Binance support, have your UID ready.

The rebate

The exchange pays the rebate automatically, based on the referral code you signed up with, so you don’t need your UID to claim it. Our bot uses your UID to check that code and let you into the members’ group.

FAQ

Is my UID the same as a referral code?

No. Your UID is your own account number. A referral code is what you enter when you sign up, to record who invited you.

Is it safe to share my UID?

Yes. It's just an account number, and knowing it doesn't let anyone log in to your account. Your password, verification codes and private keys are what you should never share.

Why send my UID to @FairRebateBot?

The bot checks whether your account was registered with referral code FAIRR at either Binance or OKX. If it was and your identity check (KYC) is done, it lets you into the members' group.
